Interesting works
Work by other people that have inspired and enlightened me.
This page contains a small, very subjective and feebly incomplete list of artifacts of importance to contemporary human society, selected by myself. Every item on the list represents something that has moved me, made me think, changed my perspective, enlightened me or simply helped me get a little bit smarter. I urge anyone interested to check out what is on the list as I believe each item holds knowledge or insights that are of quite immense importance.
Dealing with Darwin
Book by Geoffrey A. Moore that deals with developing sustainable competitive advantage through a new understanding of the innovation process and innovation strategy. This book's greatest contribution to the literature of strategic innovation is to my opinion the identification of fourteen different innovation types based on a merge of technology and product life cycles. Moore argues that it does not make sense for every company on the planet to want to develop a competence for radical, disruptive innovation, as this is simply too rare and difficult to rely on. What is much more probable and prudent is to identify what specific types of innovation are relevant to the current product portfolio and then orienting and educating the human capital in this specific direction. Very interesting and inspirational book that presents a new view of things. Read it!

The Constant Gardner
Insightful, involving and deeply touching motion picture thriller directed by Fernando Meirelles based on a brilliant novel written by John Le Carré about the responsibility of the western world and multinational corporations (and governments) in connection to third world countries conveyed through a plot revolving around the immoral abuse by the medical industry of poor african natives in the pursuit of the purpose of any commercial organization: bottom line.

Michael Clayton
Absolutely brilliant motion picture written and directed by Tony Gilroy telling the story of a a law firm "fixer" who goes through a process of enlightenment when he is ordered to handle a case that has arisen due to one of the law firm partners' manic depressive episodes in connection to one of the companies' largest clients, a pesticide production company called U/North. Great movie that calls attention to the the unfortunate abuse of power that can tempt the management and decisionmakers in todays global corporate world.

Wall Street
"Greed is right, greed is good!" Those are the words of this great movie's antagonist Gordon Gecko played brilliantly by Michael Douglas in what could very well be his greatest role ever. The movie is directed by controversial director Oliver Stone and tells a tale of pride, rise and fall in the incredible setting of 1980's Wall Street where brass balls and cynicism can put anyone on the fast track to unbelievable riches. In the light of the current financial crisis this movie seems more relevant than ever.

Democratizing Innovation
Great book by the author of "Sources of Innovation" Eric von Hippel, which elaborates on the user involvement perspective in innovation theory by calling attention to the endless possibilities in outsourcing parts of the front-end innovation process to the enormous masses of engaged customers and users across the globe, a process also termed "Crowdsourcing". This book carries some of the most insightful and important views on the seamingly endless possibilities to companies arising from the further development in information technology. Bring the power of product and service development, and the choice of dominant designs back to the people!
